Raw Food Phase 2 Day 24 & 25 - Fruits Lower Your Cholesterol Levels

I just learned how oatmeal lowers cholesterol. There are two main types of fiber and they are soluble and insoluble. Oat bran contains moderate solubile fiber while fruit has highly soluble fiber. Soluble fiber dissolves in water and feeds the intestinal bacteria. These bacteria ferment to produce short chain fatty acids (SCFAs). As these SCFAs travel through the large intestines they nourish and stimulate healing. As they get absorbed they travel to the liver and decrease it’s production of cholesterol, hense lowering blood cholesterol levels. This means that fruits can lower your cholesterol more than oatmeal. However the fruit counsel does not have nearly the budget for advertising as the major corporations do so this is why you do not hear any of this in the media.
